Franz Johansen's European training and the influence of Mormon theology are evident in his ongoing exploration of the human figure within the theme of resurrection.
Franz Johansen achieved his BA and MA in sculpture and painting from Brigham Young University. Advanced studies at the Illinois Institute of Technology—School of Design in Chicago, The Academi de la Grande Chaumiere, in Paris, and the University of Miami Biology Institute in Florida. Franz and taught in the Art Department at BYU for 33 years. His European training and the influence of Mormon theology are evident in his ongoing exploration of the human figure within the theme of resurrection.
