As we embark on the sixth year of Art Around the Corner, we are gratified by the reception this show has experienced. The mission of Art Around the Corner is to build a lasting legacy of beauty, inspiration, and creativity through freely accessible, high-quality art. The vehicle for continuing Art Around the Corner is sales.
To date, this thriving program has sold over $477,000 in fine art. The City of St. George has added numerous pieces to its permanent collection; many of these acquisitions have been made possible through the generous support of private citizens. Local businesses have purchased other pieces that currently remain on public display. Additional sculptures have been acquired by individuals seeking to broaden personal art collections.
We are grateful to the gifted artists that participate in Art Around the Corner by sharing their time, talent, resources, and most importantly, their art. Artists loan their works to our show, and we are honored to be able to provide an open, albeit temporary public venue for these inspiring pieces.
The ultimate thank-you to an artist associated with Art Around the Corner is for us to be able to tell him or her that a piece has been purchased. The degree to which we are able to place sculptures in permanent homes will determine both the quality and quantity of the art we are able to attract to St. George in the future.
